Saturday is the day I'm often out at shoots, meeting clients or attending events, so I need to be comfortable, yet look fashion-y.
I've been living in these amazing high-waisted jeans from ASOS. I'm not normally a fan of fast fashion, but I've been very impressed with the cut and quality of both the ASOS Rivington jegging (yes, jegging, they're not all horrendous crap from Supre) and the Ridley high waist jeans. They are comfortable, stretchy, and go with everything, plus you can select what length you want the hems to finish, so tall and petite alike can get the right length for them.
The wunderkind of Australian fashion, Dion Lee, is known for his avant garde, fashion forward designs, and his crop tops especially are inspired. Dion has the Midas touch and you can't waste money on one of his timeless yet edgy creations.
Acne, a stalwart of the RTW scene, have outdone themselves with this soft feel leather jacket in a stunning soft blue hue. This universal colour will be in for years to come, so invest in a classic that you can re-wear time and again.
These shoes are slightly cray cray, and completely awesome. The Jeffrey Campbell x Humans Aliens stiletto is the stuff high fashion dreams are made of, and they are surprisingly supportive and comfortable. If you've been dreaming of these bad boys, treat yourself <3
More known for his exquisite shoes, Giuseppe Zanotti makes accessories that are nothing short of amazing! The Giuseppe Zanotti shark tooth leather choker is a must-have item, and much like the thematically similar 'Theda'; choker by Mania Mania, this will be sure to sell out, so get in quick!!

On Fridays I need to look professional during the day, but I also want something that's versatile in case I go out for drinks in the evening, or even, God forbid, end up at a party. I call this look 'Rock Chic', as opposed to Rock chick, which is slightly grungier, ripped jeans and boots etc.
My go-to item for every woman is a classic pencil skirt in a great cut. Ideally something high waisted and black, that finishes just above or just below your knee. This can be worn with a button up shirt for a feminine corporate look, with a jumper and boots for a chic yet relaxed feel, or with an embellished top and heels for classic glamour.
I have many pencil skirts, but if you look for quality fabric in a cut that suits your shape, you'll be able to wear it for years to come. Pair with boots for a relaxed, comfortable look, or with stilettos for a high fashion injection.
Throw on a leather jacket, gold accessories and some sunglasses and you have sartorial perfection.
In this flat lay I've paired a pencil skirt with this years hottest crop top, the Alexander Wang silk crop, the Mania Mania Solstice necklace (now on sale), lace up boots from Wantedshoes.com.au and sunglasses from Karen Walker Eyewear.
When you have key pieces like pencil skirts in your wardrobe, mixing items and creating looks become so much easier. Invest in good quality items that won't date, in colours you will actually wear.
